The purpose of a product tag is to give consumers important information they need to know when deciding what to purchase. Sometimes there is not enough space to print all the information a label needs. Product tags are an additional platform to offer information to consumers.
Traditionally, a product tag is a tag or a booklet attached to an elastic string that is fastened on a bottleneck or a jar. An example would be if a company introduces a new BBQ sauce and wishes to enhance its value. They might consider developing a few recipes in a booklet tag attached to the package. The product tag gives consumers at the point of purchase an added reason to buy.
